Ok, this is hillarious!
Do You BeLEAF?
The playoffs have begun once again. Old Velvet finished 3rd in the regular season.
Down 7-3 to Top Shelf after 2 periods, we managed to group together and pull off a great comeback to even the score at 7. Right after that however, the wheels fell off the track and we lost the game 12-8.
We have next week off for the holidays so we’ll pick things back up next year. Sunday, January 4th, 2009 is the date for the second playoff week. Stay tuned for the time.
Merry Christmas to everyone.
Season 5 is one month away! January 21st, 2009.

Old Velvet battles Top Shelf at 1:30 this Sunday in Week 1 of the playoffs.
Top Shelf 11-8 beat us in our only match-up this season. This is the team that had a lot of 2-on-1′s where the pass back and forth. Kinda like the old Nighthawks. Let’s show this league what damage we can really do!
Duck, Duck, Goose!
Good Ol’ George W. Bush almost got smoked in the head by a pair of shoes today in Iraq. Watch as he uses his cat like reflexes to deke around these blistering fast balls. So Close!

Our season ended today with a commanding 15-5 win over the winless Heroes. We also played with a shortened 6 man bench. This puts our final record at 9-4-1. We’ll either be sitting in 2nd place or 3rd heading into the playoffs which start next week! Stay tuned for the game time and opponent!
Player of the Game: Morley. His first hat-trick of the season.
Heres the new video from former Distillers frontwoman Brody Dalle. Her new band Sinnerette has a new EP out and heres a video of the new song. Seem motherhood has taken away some of that punk edge but she still has a kick ass voice!
I’ll start by saying what you can win:
A Stanley Cup trip for four, that includes airfare, hotel accommodations, ground transportation, and tickets to a Stanley Cup Final Game. Winners will watch the game with an NHL legend. They also will enjoy a private viewing of the Stanley Cup and a $1,000 shopping spree at NHL.com.
What do you have to do?
Spot the player that is missing the Reebok logo from their jersey.
The Problem:
Only people in attendance and U.S. television viewers are eligible.
Either way, it sounds like a pretty good contest to me. You can read the full article from NHL.com here.
The losing streak continues with yet another loss. Both the first and second periods ended in ties but Sanigav over powered us and came away with the win. Maybe we can finish the season with a win next week when we take on the 0-13 Heroes.
Player of the Game: Me! I never score, so to get 2 goals and 2 assists today, I deserve it.
