The Colonel

A pretty funny sketch from Jimmy Kimmel has Mel Gibson staring in a film called The Colonel.

Week 6: Old Velvet 12, Hung Over 7

With Adam unable to make today’s game, Doodie filled the net for the first time in a few seasons and did a pretty good job. However, Tom stole the show with 6 goals.

It was damn nice to finally get a win.

I can’t remember who can’t make it next week, but we take on the Blazers in another late one, 3:30 in the Gardens.

Week 5: Last Call 7, Old Velvet 6

Well, I wasn’t at the game, but from what I hear, we lost yet another close one as Tom apparently scored 4 goals and Mark played like he’s been on the team all year.

Misfit and Myself return next week when we take on Hung Over in the late game at 4:30 in the Forum.  Let’s get a win!

Anyone have anything to add at all?

Last Call this week!

well we gotta win this one on Sunday boys. Last call doesn’t do alot of running. They are mainly shooters so if we take away the shots we should have no trouble with them. Plus i’m sure Adam will be able to stop their far away shots anyway.

We got 2 lines this week

Dave – Tom, Vance – Mark and on defense Morley – JD

i think these will be the best balanced lines.

Bizkit Is Back!

Bizkit

Limp Bizkit, with Wes included, are back!  Check out the post from limpbizkit.com:

(New York, NY) February 12, 2009 – The original line-up of Fred Durst, Wes Borland, Sam Rivers, John Otto, and DJ Lethal are back from an eight year hiatus to bring their world back to ours. Fred Durst and Wes Borland said in a joint statement:

“We decided we were more disgusted and bored with the state of heavy popular music than we were with each other. Regardless of where our separate paths have taken us, we recognize there is a powerful and unique energy with this particular group of people we have not found anywhere else. This is why Limp Bizkit is back.”

The guys will kick off a world tour in the Spring on the overseas festival circuit with headline shows sprinkled in throughout Eastern Europe and Europe, selected dates include, in late May, Russia, Ukraine, and the Baltic countries where Limp Bizkit has never played before despite huge demand, along with major festivals like Rock Am Ring and Rock Im Park in Germany, more dates to be announced shortly. A new album, which would be the original group’s first full-length effort since 2000, is also planned. Limp Bizkit’s first three albums have sold over 20 million copies in the U.S. alone, and another 13 million in the rest of the world.

Joaquin Phoenix's Interview on David Letterman

As the debate continues on whether Joaquin Phoenix’s rap career is all a hoax, things are getting even stranger now that the actor is beginning promotion for his new movie, ‘Two Lovers’.

One of the latest stops for the scraggly Phoenix was the ‘Late Show with David Letterman’ Wednesday night — and describing the interview as ‘awkward’ would be a huge understatement. While Phoenix appeared on the show, let’s just say, he wasn’t the perfect guest, after he spoke in monosyllables, wore shades, chewed gum, and mumbled throughout the interview.

At one point, Letterman quipped, “What can you tell us about your days with the Unabomber?”. As he continued to receive no response to his questions and compliments, Letterman said, “My hope is that you return to acting after some time off,” before adding, “and I think you’re taking some time off tonight.”

When the strange interview finally came to an end, with Phoenix sitting next to him, Letterman said, “Joaquin, I’m sorry you couldn’t be here tonight.”

Was Joaquin Phoenix stoned, highly disinterested or was it all an act? Although, it’s tough to see it being an act in this instance considering it could severely backfire on the movie’s box office numbers.

Week 4: Raw Hot Dogs 7, Old Velvet 3

The Raw Hot Dogs finally took one from us.  The first two periods were close, but in the end we were out-played losing the game 7-3.

Adam did a good job filling the net as he made some great saves to keep the game close for us.

Mark will join Velvet next week just in the nick of time as we will be short myself, Hogan and Misfit.  Game time is 2:30 once again but this time we take on Last Call.

Fernando's Hand Is Broken

img_4952handbreakVance has told me that Fernando’s hand had an encounter with a wall.

We are waiting on the x-ray results to see if anything is broken.  We should find out later today.

Adam is ready to step in if need be.  This is the last week we can make changes to our team, so let’s hope for the best.
