Rockband starts up the Rockband network!!!

heres what rockband is about to do…this could be huge!  The Rock Band music catalog is about to get a lot bigger. We′re making a set of professional authoring tools available to bands, studios, and record labels everywhere in order to build a diverse and growing library of music that’s sure to satisfy the tastes of hardcore gamers and casual fans alike. Every day, new tracks will become available* from top indie artists, newcomers, classic acts, and upstarts from the far reaches of the rock universe.

How It Will Work

  1. A community of bands, recording engineers, game developers, and record labels create, review, and publish songs using the same tools we use to create Rock Band game tracks.
  2. Rock Band fans browse an ever-growing catalog of songs from every imaginable genre. Players can demo any song for free, and it′s easier than ever to find exactly what you want in the new store.

this is on top of the regular releases by harmonix….crazy man anyone can put their songs on rockband network for download.. i can’t wait for this to launch!!

Leafs 2009-2010 Regular Season Schedule

Well, it’s here once again.  It’s the day where I study the Leafs schedule and picture the playoffs.  Although, it may just be another 82 reasons why there will be no post-season again for the Leafs.  Oh well, time will tell.

Martin Streek's Backstage

Here’ s a clip from a show that Martin was working on called Martin Streek’s Backstage.  It was filmed in May and I believe the show was set to move forward in September.  Sad face.

Martin Streek RIP

YouTube Preview ImageLegendary radio announcer Martin Streek, most famous for his work on CFNY/Edge 102 over several decades, before being unceremoniously fired from the station in May, is dead. He committed suicide on Monday.

The news was first reported late Monday night by Mike Boon, based on comments left on Boon’s article about Streek’s firing. Boon’s article about Streek’s death (which has since been updated) was met with no small amount of confusion and skepticism earlier tonight, but Streek’s death has since been confirmed on Twitter by people close to Streek (like Kneale Mann), as well as to Torontoist by several current and former Edge employees who knew him.

David Marsden, CFNY’s founder, wrote on The Southern Ontario/WNY Radio-TV Forum that Streek “put on his wings earlier today, to the shock of most everyone….Good night Martin. We don’t know what forced you to take this step but we do wish you a wonderful and peaceful rest.” According to Marsden, Streek’s final Facebook status update, set on Monday, was:

So…I guess that’s it…thanks everyone…I’m sorry to those I should be sorry to, I love you to those that I love, and I will see you all again soon (not too soon though)… Let the stories begin.
For me, He was the coolest guy at the station and the king of The Kingdom while that club was open. Such an approachable guy always willing to engage in conversation about anything and such a vast knowledge of music. It sad that he is gone and it makes me raise my two middle fingers in the air and say ” FU 102.1!”
